Cardiac Rehabilitation Program

Individuals recovering from cardiac events or surgeries are often at high risk of requiring another hospitalization during their recovery period.

The keys to a successful recovery include continued monitoring, following treatment plans, and a consistent rehabilitation program. That’s where Ballard Rehabilitation Hospital can help.

Through our cardiac rehab program, patients recovering from cardiac events, conditions, and surgeries have access to:

Recovery in a safe hospital setting.

We provide 24-hour nursing and daily physician management. Board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians, also known as physiatrists, lead our hospital’s care team. Our skilled medical professionals provide close supervision and treatment of cardiac issues so that patients can safely participate in their rehab programs. Our team can provide medication management, pain management, and treatment of post-operative wounds.

Personalized rehabilitation services.

Our team of rehabilitation experts will develop a program tailored to each patient’s abilities, goals, and risk factors. Physical therapists guide patients through exercises designed to improve overall cardiovascular health. They work closely with patients to improve strength and confidence, all while in a safe hospital environment.

Occupational therapists are available to assist patients with practicing self-care activities and the use of assistive devices. Ballard Rehabilitation Hospital offers a spacious therapy gym, state-of-the-art equipment, and functional living areas. Functional living areas are spaces specially designed to simulate a home environment where patients can safely practice newly learned therapy techniques before being discharged.

Healthy lifestyle education and support.

We provide both patients and their family members with education and support on topics such as nutrition, smoking cessation, stress reduction, and weight loss. Our team members work hard to ensure that each individual has access to the information, resources, training, and support they need before leaving Ballard Rehabilitation Hospital.
