Medical Rehabilitation

Working Toward Recovery

Injuries and illnesses affect everyone differently and no one treatment plan can serve the needs of an entire community. At Ballard Rehabilitation Hospital, our rehab experts design unique treatment plans for individuals suffering from various physical and cognitive impairments. Our team members are trained in treating musculoskeletal, neurological, rheumatic, cardiovascular, and other conditions. This allows us to offer a broad range of specialized rehabilitation services to our community.

At Ballard Rehabilitation Hospital, we empower our patients to work toward achieving their recovery goals and regaining independence. We spend time getting to know our patients on a personal level so that we can create custom treatment plans based on each individual’s preferences and goals.

Rehabilitation can occur on both an inpatient and outpatient basis:

  • Inpatient rehabilitation:
Inpatient rehabilitation refers to a level of care in which patients stay at a rehab hospital to address their medical needs and recovery goals. Patients have immediate access to their care team and participate in frequent, intensive therapy programs.
  • Outpatient rehabilitation:
Outpatient therapy is often recommended to patients who would benefit from rehab services but have no acute medical needs that require hospitalization. A benefit of outpatient rehab is that participants can live at home and only need to visit a rehab center for scheduled visits. Some individuals participate in outpatient therapy after being discharged from a hospital, while others are referred directly from home.
